The Portillo variety can only be found in El Salvador because it was developed there by a farmer named Portillo, who is a relative of Rodolfo Ruffatti.
Portillo dedicated his coffee farming career to developing and improving varieties, and this variety is named after him. He did not document his work, but he passed the seeds on to his family and friends, including Rodolfo.
Rodolfo continues to develop the variety by selecting the best seeds from each harvest and improving them.
This Portillo variety from finca El Salvador is anaerobic-natural processed.
It has a wide range of sweetness, with highlighted fermentation notes of cocoa, ripe fruits and wine.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
To keep your coffee beans fresh and flavorful for longer, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat. Always reseal the bag tightly after each use to preserve their aroma and taste. If the bag cannot be properly closed for any reason, consider transferring the coffee to another airtight container or sealed bag. Avoid storing coffee beans in the refrigerator, as the high humidity can affect their quality. For any questions, you can always contact us — we’re happy to help!
