There are many legends about coffee, the most famous being the story of the goat herder Khaldi. The Kaffa region is believed to be where it happened, and is widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee.

Bitta Farm spans 9.12 km² at 1,900–2,050 meters above sea level. Shaded by indigenous trees and surrounded by fertile clay loam soil, rich biodiversity, and abundant rainfall, the farm offers ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation and deep flavor complexity.
Founded in 1993, Bitta Farm cultivates varieties developed by JARC — the Jimma Agricultural Research Center in Ethiopia. Since the 1970s, JARC has been the country's primary institution for breeding and releasing improved coffee varieties, with a focus on disease resistance and yield.

The farm processes coffee through washed, natural, and experimental methods. Notably, Ethiopian Korerima (black cardamom) also grows on the farm, a spice whose aromatic signature often finds its way into the cup.

Beyond production, Bitta Farm supports 115 permanent and up to 510 seasonal employees, collaborates with neighboring smallholder farmers, and invests in local infrastructure, including roads, water supply, and education. The farm holds Rainforest Alliance, Organic, and C.A.F.E. Practices certifications.

Cup Profile: Juicy, silky mouthfeel with expressive sweetness and bright citric acidity. Notes of berries, dried fruit, and a lingering spiced finish.
